On the 22nd of May 2015, Rwanda participated for the first time into the GIFT SHOW POLAND represented by the Embassy of Rwanda to Poland, with the support of the Rwandan Diaspora in Poland.

This exhibition was held from 22nd to 24th of May at the International Trade Fair Centre in Warsaw, and it was visited by over 30,000 people from allover the world but mainly from Warsaw, Poland.

Rwanda, one of the other 15 foreign countries to be part of the exhibition, was not only be promoting and presenting business opportunities available in Rwanda, they were also showing and selling arts and crafts products made by members of ICAR (Indashyikirwa Crafts Association Rwanda).

Furthermore, the Chairperson of the Rwandan Diaspora in Poland Francine Umutesi attended a panel discussion on 23rd of May, where people had time to ask more details on opportunities for doing business in Rwanda, especially in the arts and crafts industry. After then, some few members of the Rwandan Diaspora – Ingabire Aimee who works as a nursery school teacher in Warsaw and Asnaty Uwimana Makowska -  were scheduled to have a small workshop for kids, where they taught them how to make jewelries and other hand-made small crafts by kids in Rwanda.

The first day having been reserved for business to business opportunities, the stand of Rwanda was visited by more than 50 people; Rwandans present had fruitful conversations, they responded to questions about tourism and investments in Rwanda, and many others.

The stand was visited by more than 60 people mostly inquiring about possibilities of tourism in Rwanda, the processes of getting visa and what they can expect, and of course checking out the crafts presented there.

The organizers manifested the wish to continue this partnership and make our participation a yearly occurrence. They would like to organize a small group to come to Rwanda even if it’s just to visit the EXPO RWANDA 2015, and for tourism, but with potential interest in trade.

More information will have to follow about this soon...
